About this dataset
The Economic Research Service (ERS) Food Price Outlook (FPO) Producer Price Index data, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics PPI figures. ERS forecasts annual percent change in farm-level and wholesale food prices up to 18 months ahead, released monthly. Includes the current forecast, the historical record of monthly forecasts made since 2002 (using the revised 2023 methodology), and actual historical PPI percent change back to 1974.
