VDH PUD Birth Defects by Year and Locality

The Virginia Birth Defects dataset was created to show data on twelve birth defects. Data comes from the Virginia Congenital Anomalies Reporting and Education System (VaCARES) and vital records. Birth defects were classified using the International Classification of Diseases, Nineth and Tenth Revisions (ICD-9 and ICD-10). Prior to October 2015, defects were classified using ICD-9.
